FINANCIAL LITERACY WORKSHOP

This workshop, available for 20 AHISA General and Aspirant members, is designed to introduce participants to the knowledge required to oversee financial responsibility of an independent school. John Somerset will lead aspirants through financial papers and the ‘need to know’ imperatives for school management.

Current AHISA Heads will share their experience of that theory in practice, discuss the relationship between a Head and Business Manager (or equivalent) and be available for general questions.

Additionally a session on governance in schools will focus on good governance practices including: particular responsibilities for Board members and Chairs, their roles and responsibilities and how that intersects with the role of a Principal.

The Financial Literacy workshop will also provide an informal opportunity to network with other aspirants and AHISA members and to seek further information that might support attendees in their quest for school leadership.
